AK T5p 2nd Generation

The AK T5p 2nd Generation is a closed-back, circumaural headphone developed jointly by beyerdynamic and Astell&Kern. It uses a dynamic transducer based on beyerdynamic's Tesla technology. The low 32 Ω impedance and 102 dB sound pressure level let it reach its full potential on low-output sources such as smartphones, tablets and high-resolution players. The tilted transducer shape is intended to give a spatial, transparent presentation. The headphones are handmade in Germany, with a black metal faceplate and ear pads intended for long listening sessions.

The detachable 1.4 m cable is a hybrid of 4N pure silver and 7N OCC copper. It has eight conductors, a TPU jacket and a 2.5 mm 4-pole balanced termination. The cable is tuned specifically for this model and is meant to balance the highs and lows.

For connection, the headphones work with the 2.5 mm balanced plug, a 3.5 mm jack plug or the supplied 6.35 mm adaptor. The earcups are tuned for use with Astell&Kern portable players. Without the cable they weigh 340 g.
