The da Vinci V2.1 is a moving-coil (MC) phono cartridge built around a boron cantilever and a clearaudio Prime Line diamond stylus profile. Total system weight is 6.8 g, and the output voltage is 0.5 mV at 5 cm/s. The needle compliance is 15 µ/mN and the recommended tracking force is 2.8 g (± 0.2 g).
The body is aluminium with a 30-micron ceramic coating, intended to drain resonances efficiently. Inside, a patented construction uses eight magnets to give a high field-line density. The 24-carat gold coils are arranged in an absolutely point-symmetrical layout. The cartridge is assembled by hand and was developed in Erlangen, Germany.
The cartridge mounts on a tonearm headshell or arm tube and connects to a phono stage suited to a low-output MC cartridge with a 50 Ω system impedance. Quoted performance includes a 20 Hz – 20 kHz frequency response, 25 – 30 dB channel separation and channel balance under 0.5 dB. The maker gives a 2-year warranty when the registration card is returned within 14 days of purchase.
