EPICON VOKAL

The EPICON VOKAL is a 2 + ½-way centre speaker designed to reproduce dialogue and centre-channel detail within a surround setup. It carries two 6½-inch wood fibre woofers, made at the maker's facility in Denmark, and a hybrid tweeter module that combines a 29 mm soft dome with a 10 x 55 mm planar tweeter. The planar element handles wide dispersion and works down to 2.5 kHz, so coverage stays even as the dome becomes more directional at higher frequencies.

The magnet system uses Soft Magnetic Composite (SMC), a material with high magnetic conductivity and very low electrical conductivity, intended to reduce distortion caused by mechanical loss. The cabinet is a rigid construction in real-wood veneer with 10 layers of hand-polished lacquer, with bass ports placed directly behind the woofers to limit turbulence.

Connection is by loudspeaker cable to an amplifier through gold-plated binding posts. The rated frequency range is 49 to 30,000 Hz (±3 dB), sensitivity is 89.5 dB and nominal impedance is 6 ohms, with a recommended amplifier power of 50 to 300 watts.
