The MS50A is a single-cabinet wireless speaker with a wooden enclosure finished in a walnut texture. It uses a 4-inch (102 mm) mid-bass driver and a 19 mm silk-diaphragm tweeter, with a total RMS output of 40 W (25 W mid-bass plus 15 W treble). A digital signal processing circuit handles sound processing and dynamic management, and frequency response is stated as 52 Hz to 18 kHz.
The speaker connects over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5.2. Wi-Fi setup is done through the Edifier Home app. It works with Apple AirPlay 2, Amazon Alexa (in listed countries), Spotify Connect and TIDAL Connect, and can be grouped with other compatible speakers for synchronised multi-room playback. Voice control of playback is possible through an Apple HomePod mini or an Alexa-enabled device, since the speaker itself has no microphone.
Control is by a touch panel with a central solid button. Two units can be paired through the Edifier Home app to form a wireless stereo system.
