The Signal Pad is a fully passive attenuator in a pedal enclosure. A footswitch toggles it between true bypass and active mode, and a single knob sets the level used when it is engaged. The circuit adds no coloration of its own, so it works like a guitar volume control that can be switched in and out on demand.
Typical uses include leaving an amp's volume high for natural overdrive and dropping the level for clean passages, or turning a single-channel amp into a two-level setup for switching between lead and rhythm. It can also be placed before or after other effects to change how they respond, which can bring out different tonal combinations from existing pedals.
The pedal has one mono 1/4" input and one 1/4" output. It runs on a 9V battery, which is included, or on an optional 9.6VDC 200mA adapter that is not supplied. Current draw is 3mA. The maker lists it as discontinued in 2025; it was first released in 2008.
