The F700 is a two-way passive bookshelf speaker sold as a pair. Its 150mm IsoFlare point-source driver combines a multi-fibre bass/midrange cone on a FyneFlute surround with a 25mm magnesium dome compression tweeter, driven by a neodymium magnet system. The crossover sits at 1.7kHz and is a bi-wired, low-loss design (2nd-order low pass, 1st-order high pass) that has been Cryo-Lite treated.
Bass is handled by a down-firing port fitted with a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser, which spreads the low-frequency output around the cabinet. Technology is carried over from the maker's flagship F1 series. The handcrafted cabinets are covered in black, white or walnut veneer with a high-gloss piano lacquer.
The speaker has an 8 Ohm nominal impedance and 89dB sensitivity, with a recommended amplifier power of 30 to 150 W RMS. It connects to an amplifier through bi-wired speaker terminals. Each cabinet measures 348 x 224 x 337mm and weighs 9.0kg. A separate FS8 stand is listed as a related product.
