The Vintage Five is a two-way bookshelf speaker sold as a pair. It uses a single 125mm IsoFlare point-source driver with a multi-fibre bass/midrange cone and FyneFlute surround, with a 19mm magnesium dome compression tweeter at its centre. Low frequencies are handled by a downwards-firing port working with a BassTrax Tractrix diffuser.
The cabinet is made from pressed high-density birch ply and kept small so it fits into smaller spaces. The crossover is a single-wired, low-loss passive design (2nd order low pass, 1st order high pass) and is Deep Cryogenically Treated. A Presence control adjusts the 2.5kHz to 5.0kHz region by up to 3dB either way, so the sound can be tuned to the room.
Connection is by a single-wired terminal pair to a conventional amplifier. Sensitivity is 87dB with an 8 ohm nominal impedance, and the maker recommends 30 to 100 watts RMS of amplifier power. The speaker is listed in a walnut finish, with a Walnut/Clear colour choice offered on the product page.
