P30
The Hegel P30 is a line-level stereo preamplifier with balanced and unbalanced inputs, a home theatre pass-through input and a remote-controlled volume stage. It is aimed at hi-fi owners building a separates system with Hegel power amplifiers such as the H30 and H20.

The P30 is a preamplifier built around a volume stage that uses an array of gigahertz-rated MOS transistors. The front knob only sets the target level, and the transistors route the signal through a network of resistors to reduce it. After the volume stage the signal goes through an amplification circuit that uses Hegel's SoundEngine technology together with hand-matched FET transistors. The signal passes through just 2 transistors and 1 to 3 resistors in total.
On the back there are 2 balanced XLR inputs, 3 unbalanced RCA inputs and a Home Theatre input for use in a surround setup. Outputs are 1 balanced XLR and 2 unbalanced RCA. A 3.5 mm IR-direct jack and a 3.5 mm 12V trigger output are also fitted. Volume, source selection and mute are operated from the Hegel RC2 remote.
The P30 was offered in silver and black finishes so it could be matched with the H30 and H20 power amplifiers. It is listed among Hegel's discontinued products.
