This is an electric guitar from the Steve Vai signature JEM line. It combines a Meranti body with a thin, flat Wizard III maple neck carrying a Jatoba fretboard, 24 jumbo frets and the Tree of Life inlay. The scale length is 648 mm (25.5") on a 400 mmR fingerboard, and the neck is 43 mm wide at the nut.

Electronics are three passive ceramic Infinity pickups in a humbucker, single-coil, humbucker layout. Control is by one volume knob, one tone knob and a five-way selector switch. The selector gives the neck humbucker, a neck-and-middle combination, the middle single coil, a middle-and-bridge combination, or the bridge humbucker.

Tuning stability comes from a Double Locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut, finished in Cosmo Black hardware. The body also carries the Monkey Grip cutout associated with the JEM series. The guitar is a standard wired instrument with a single output jack. The maker lists the M300C case and the IGB540-BK gig bag as recommended accessories.
