The RK-100S 2 is a shoulder-worn synthesizer with a natural wood body that shows its grain. It has a 37-note slim keyboard and 200 presets, with an emphasis on lead and solo sounds, plus an arpeggiator with a range of patterns. Favorite buttons on the top panel give quick access to sounds during a performance.
Two ribbon controllers handle expression: a short one on the neck for pitch bend and modulation, and a long one on the keyboard for pitch or filter control, including a scale mode that sounds notes when the ribbon is touched. A mono mini input accepts a headset mic for vocoder use, or an external source such as a smartphone.
It runs on six AA batteries for up to eight hours of continuous use, or from a separately sold AC adapter. A MIDI output and a USB port allow it to control soft synths or hardware modules, and a PC editor covers MIDI settings and the internal sound engine. A strap, soft case, logo sticker and a software bundle are included.
