The ML-50 is a single-channel (monaural) power amplifier released to mark the brand's 50th anniversary. It is limited to 100 pairs worldwide, each serialized and badged. It delivers 425 W RMS into 8 ohms and 850 W RMS into 4 ohms, is stable into 2 ohms, and uses a shielded, encapsulated toroidal transformer to keep electrical and mechanical noise down.
The circuit follows the Pure Path approach, built from discrete components. A clear glass top cover with soft red lighting shows the interior, and the circuit board layout was optimized for both appearance and electrical performance. Vibration-damping, mechanically isolated feet support the chassis and improve convection cooling. The amplifier was designed in Northridge, California and assembled by hand in the USA.
It accepts a balanced XLR input and an unbalanced RCA input, so it can work with most preamplifiers and source players. Speaker connections use two pairs of Hurricane binding posts. Control options are Ethernet, RS-232 and a 3-12 V DC trigger input and output.
