The MG-101 is a floor-based modeling guitar processor built around a white-box amp modeling algorithm (TSAC-HD) with a pre-effects stage and a separate post-effects engine. It offers 25 electric guitar amp models and 25 matching onboard impulse responses at 512-sample resolution, plus 12 user-loadable IR collection slots and a user IR slot with each patch. The signal chain is split into 10 independent blocks covering noise gate, compressor, effects, amp, IR, EQ, modulation, delay, reverb and phrase looper.

Playing and practice tools include a phrase looper with auto tempo detection, a drum machine that can be triggered from a drum footswitch, and a built-in metronome. The looper records 20 seconds in stereo or 40 seconds in mono. The expression pedal has a physical toe switch and needs no calibration. Five output modes with a 3-band EQ allow quick tone adjustments, and the system menu provides input trim and a global EQ.

The unit works as a USB recording interface and connects to Mac and PC for firmware updates and editing with the QuickTone software. A TRRS headphone output accepts a headset with microphone, so it can be connected to a mobile device through an OTG adapter for live streaming.
