The MC Quintet Bronze is a moving-coil cartridge that sits in the upper part of the Quintet range. Its Nude Fine Line stylus has a slim profile intended to follow high-frequency detail in the groove, while the larger contact area is meant to lower distortion and record wear. The tonal balance is described as even across the spectrum.
The body is made of injection-moulded ABS thermoplastic with a scratch-resistant surface, and neodymium magnets are used to raise output. The coils are wound from pure 4-nines copper. Internal impedance is 5 Ohm, so the cartridge is not very sensitive to load and can work with a wide range of preamps and step-up transformers. Output is 0.3 mV at 1 kHz.
Mounting is a standard half-inch fitting. The aluminium frame has threaded holes that take 5 mm or 7 mm screws, depending on headshell thickness. Straight lines, a visible stylus and generous clearance below the body make alignment simpler. The recommended tracking force is 2.3 g.
