The Pick it PRO is an MM (moving-magnet) cartridge that Pro-Ject developed together with Ortofon, who handle the manufacturing in Europe. It converts the mechanical movement of the stylus into an electrical signal and is tuned for a lively, robust sound with a high dynamic range.
It uses an elliptical stylus with an r/R 8/18 μm tip radius and an output of 4 mV at 1 kHz. The recommended tracking force is 2.0 g within a 1.8–2.2 g range, and the frequency response is 20–20,000 Hz ±2 dB. Channel separation is 22 dB at 1 kHz, and tracking ability is 70 μm at 315 Hz.
Electrically it has 750 Ohm DC resistance and 450 mH inductance, and it expects a 47 kOhm load with 150–300 pF capacitance, which matches the input of a typical MM phono stage. The body weighs 7.2 g, and the stylus tip sits 18 mm below the top mounting surface.
