The Sub Box 50 E is a small powered subwoofer built around a 130 mm down-firing bass driver in a stiff MDF cabinet. Its amplifier delivers 50 W RMS (100 W peak), and the response runs from 38 Hz to 160 Hz (–3 dB). The crossover can be set continuously between 65 and 150 Hz to suit the main speakers.
It accepts a stereo pair of RCA low-level inputs plus a mono RCA, and a stereo pair of speaker-level inputs plus a mono speaker input. The high-level inputs allow connection directly to a power amplifier's speaker outputs. Three amplifier modes are available, including an automatic mode that switches the unit on when a signal appears at any input and returns it to stand-by after 10 minutes without an active signal.
The cabinet has a metal back plate and is offered in high-gloss white or black. Stand-by consumption is 0.4 W. A manual is supplied in the box.
