Planar 10
A reference-level belt-drive turntable with a skeletal Tancast 8 plinth, ceramic bracing, a factory-fitted RB3000 tonearm and an outboard PL10 power supply. It is aimed at listeners building a high-end vinyl system around a lightweight, rigid design.

The Planar 10 is built around a skeletal plinth made from a Tancast 8 polyurethane foam core between two layers of high-pressure laminate. A ceramic top brace and a phenolic resin bottom brace sit between the tonearm mount and the main bearing. The plinth is described as 30% lighter than the original RP10 while being stiffer.
The platter is a ceramic oxide flywheel that is fired and diamond cut for flatness. It turns on a low-mass hub bearing with a one-piece machined aluminium sub-platter and a hardened tool steel spindle in a brass housing. A 24 V synchronous motor, mounted from underneath, drives the platter through an EBLT belt. Each motor is hand-tuned to its own PL10 PSU, which provides electronic speed change and fine speed adjustment.
The RB3000 tonearm has a preloaded bearing assembly and an aluminium arm tube, and uses no adhesive in its construction. An Apheta 3 or Aphelion 2 cartridge can be factory fitted as an option. It comes with a removable single-piece dust cover and in two matt finishes.
