The sE4400 is a large-diaphragm true condenser microphone with four switchable polar patterns, a metal die-cast body and a custom shockmount. It suits studio and live users who want one mic for vocals, drums, guitar cabs, piano and strings.

The sE4400 is a multipattern condenser microphone built around a 1-inch dual-diaphragm capsule that is hand-made and individually tuned at the maker's own factory. The diaphragm is gold-sputtered Mylar. Four polar patterns can be selected: cardioide, omnidirectional, figure-8 and hypercardioid. The body is die-cast metal with metal switches and a steel spring-mesh grille, with no LED and no plastic switches.
Two switchable pre-attenuation pads (10 and 20 dB) extend the dynamic range for loud sources, and two switchable low-cut filters (40 and 80 Hz) help control low-frequency noise and proximity effect. The flat, rounded chassis sits centred in a custom shockmount, so the mic can be placed close to a drum head or against a guitar cabinet, and the mount isolates it from bass rumble and footstep noise.
The mic connects through a 3-pin male XLR and needs 48 V phantom power. It is also sold as a matched stereo pair, in which each microphone is tested, tuned and matched for near-identical frequency response, supplied with a stereo bar, two shockmounts and a metal case.
