The BD-01U is a 1U Blu-ray player aimed at professional installations. Besides Blu-ray discs it reads DVDs, CDs and USB memory, and SD cards can be played through a separate USB card reader. Supported content includes BDMV and BD-Video, VR, AVCHD and DVD-Video, along with WAV, MP3, WMA and JPEG files.
For installed use it has Power ON Play, which starts playback automatically at power-up, and a panel lock against accidental operation. Other functions include chapter, title and A-B repeat, an on-screen display switch, analog output attenuation of up to -12 dB, a two-level dimmable front display, and an option to output non-copyrighted video to devices that do not support HDCP.
Audio leaves through XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced analog outputs, or through coaxial and optical digital outputs. Video goes out over HDMI. The unit can be controlled externally through an RS-232C D-sub 9-pin port or over Ethernet LAN, and an infrared remote is supplied. This model has been discontinued.
