TC2290-DT is a software recreation of the TC Electronic 2290 digital delay, supplied with a desktop hardware controller. The plug-in covers clean repeats, complex delay rhythms, stereo delays and modulated effects such as chorus and flanging. Its dynamic delay reacts to the level of the input signal, so repeats sit back while the source plays and become more obvious when it stops, similar to ducking.
The desktop interface puts the main tone-defining parameters under your hands, including delay time, feedback, modulation and mix. It also has high-resolution input and output meters for monitoring the signal. The plug-in ships with signature presets, including settings taken from the rack units of well-known artists and an expanding set of new designs by artists and recording engineers.
The plug-in supports the modern plug-in standards and works with DAW automation and project recall. Named host applications include Pro Tools, Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton Live, Reaper and Logic Pro X. The sound model was built by measuring and comparing four original 2290 units.
