Portable 24-track SD-card recorder with eight combo mic/line/instrument inputs, built-in stereo condenser mics, an 8-pad sampler and rhythm machine. It also works as an 8-in/2-out USB audio interface and a DAW control surface, for musicians recording away from a studio.

The R24 records up to 8 tracks at once and plays back 24 tracks as WAV files (16 or 24-bit, 44.1 or 48 kHz) on SD or SDHC cards up to 32 GB. A built-in mixer provides faders, a 3-band EQ, pan and two effect sends per track, and it can bounce tracks or mix down to stereo. More than 100 DSP effects cover insert and send-return processing, amp and preamp models, and mastering algorithms, with 390 patch memories for storing settings.
Creative tools include eight velocity-sensitive pads (three banks, up to 24 samples), a rhythm machine with 160 drum and percussion sounds, and a loop-based audio sequencer that ties the recorder, rhythm machine and sampler together. Samples can be trimmed and time-stretched, and recorded audio can be turned into custom loops. A chromatic tuner and metronome are built in.
The eight XLR/TRS combo inputs take mic, line or instrument signals, with phantom power on six channels and a Hi-Z mode on input 1. Outputs are dual balanced TRS jacks and a headphone output. A USB 2.0 port provides 8-in/2-out audio interface operation, Mackie Control emulation for DAWs, and SD card reader mode. It runs from the supplied AC adapter or six AA batteries.
