The TT-4 Special Edition is an upgraded version of the TT-4 belt-drive turntable. It adds a rubber mat, a dampened aluminium platter and improved internal wiring to the cartridge, and ships with an Ortofon 2M Bronze moving-magnet pickup already fitted. The carbon-fibre/aluminium tonearm has a narrow cut along its underside (ATS, Anisotropic Torsion Stabilizer, patent pending) intended to reduce internal arm resonances.
A built-in MM phono preamplifier can be switched on or off at the rear panel. With RIAA on, the deck connects to an AUX or line-level input on an amplifier or active speakers. With RIAA off, it connects to a phono input or an external phono preamp. Speed is selected between 33 and 45 rpm with a rotary switch, and the deck is manual, not automatic.
The turntable has a wired RCA output only and no Bluetooth. It comes in a high-gloss black finish with five layers of lacquer, an MDF plinth and a dust cover. The box includes a power supply and an RCA cable, and a printed quick start guide is listed in the maker's FAQ.
