ASP510

The ASP510 handles monitoring for surround and stereo work. It takes three surround sources (up to 5.1) and three stereo sources, with dedicated encoder/decoder inserts and console interfacing options so it can be set up around an existing console or DAW rig. Signal processing and switching happen in a 1RU rack unit with a quiet fan, while the operator works from a compact desktop remote.

From the remote, the user can recall four preset monitor formats (Film, LCRS, Stereo and Mono, plus an Aux option) to check a mix on different speaker layouts. Individual speakers within a surround or stereo setup can be isolated or cut, and the unit works with console or DAW monitoring functions such as solo, dim and talkback. A bypass button lets the user connect to the direct stereo outputs of a console or DAW and work in stereo. A built-in pink noise generator is provided for speaker and room calibration without an external plugin.

The remote connects to the rack unit over standard CAT-5 cable. The unit has an all-metal construction and is covered by a three-year limited warranty. It ships with a software bundle that includes Cubase LE.
