The concept is a belt-drive turntable. Its plinth is made of medium-density fibreboard in silver or black, with a steel base plate for extra mass and decoupling elements included. The platter is a 20 mm high-density acrylic disc on a CNC-turned aluminium sub-platter. A ground flat belt connects it to a fully decoupled, low-noise 12 V DC motor. The platter bearing is a hardened steel axle in a bronze bushing.
A tacho speed control (TSC) system monitors rotation speed continuously and feeds it back to the control electronics. This lets the electronics react to belt tension changes, bearing friction and temperature drift. Calibration runs automatically and can also be triggered with a button on the back. Operation is through an illuminated touch control on the top.
The tonearm and cartridge in the package are the T1 radial tonearm and the N1 moving-magnet cartridge, with a 1.1 m Direct Wire PLUS signal cable ending in Cinch (RCA) plugs. The deck accepts other clearaudio MM and MC cartridges and tonearms. Optional extras include a clamp, an acrylic dust cover, the nano phono V2 or smart phono V2 phono stages and the Professional Power 12V or smart power 12V power supplies.
