RUBICON 5
Floorstanding two-and-a-half-way loudspeaker from DALI's Rubicon series, now listed as discontinued. It pairs a 6½-inch wood fibre woofer with a hybrid dome-and-planar tweeter, and suits stereo listening or front duty in a medium-sized surround system.

The Rubicon 5 is the first floorstanding model in the Rubicon range. It builds on the Rubicon 2 with a larger cabinet and a hybrid tweeter module, which extends and widens the high frequencies and adds deeper bass. It is positioned for average-sized living rooms, either as a stereo pair or as the front speakers of a medium-sized surround setup.
The 6½-inch woofer uses a light, rigid wood fibre cone with an uneven surface, a low-loss rubber surround and a cast-aluminium chassis. The motor uses DALI's SMC (Soft Magnetic Compound) pole-piece with a slitted copper cap to reduce distortion. The hybrid tweeter combines a 29 mm soft dome with a 17 x 45 mm planar element that reaches down to 2.5 kHz to keep dispersion wide.
The cabinet has separate chambers for each driver, a 25 mm thick front baffle and a bass reflex port placed directly behind the woofer. The drivers are made in-house in Denmark. It is offered in a walnut veneer finish, with a removable grille option shown.
