ZEQD-Pre
The ZEQD-Pre is an all-analog tube preamp pedal built by EarthQuaker Devices with Dr. Z Amplification. The ZEQD-Pre is a tube preamplifier in pedal format, developed jointly by EarthQuaker Devices and Dr. Z Amplification. Its gain stage is an EF86 pentode, the tube found in many Dr. Z amps. The pedal has two sides: a passive Bass/Middle/Treble EQ with a Level control, and a Boost side that bypasses the tone controls and has its own Boost knob. Mechanical true bypass switching is used.
Three outputs are available and all of them work at the same time, including when the pedal is bypassed. A TRS headphone jack with analog cabinet simulation serves for quiet practice, and a balanced XLR direct output can feed a console or interface. The XLR output has a Ground Lift switch and a Cab Sim Bypass switch for sending an uncoloured signal to an IR loader or modeling software.
The pedal runs from a 9V DC supply (2.1 mm, center negative) rated at 500 mA or more. Its page lists guitar, bass and amp audio samples, and the device carries a limited lifetime warranty from the maker.
