The C 546BEE is a single-disc CD player that reads CD, CD-R and CD-RW media and decodes MP3 and WMA files. A USB input accepts external memory, with audio rates up to 384kbps. Conversion is handled by a Wolfson 24-bit digital-to-analogue converter, and the output impedance is low.
Playback functions include track, time and repeat selection, repeat of a single track or the whole disc, random play, and programmed play of up to 20 tracks. A vacuum fluorescent display shows CD text. The power supply uses a toroidal transformer with separate regulators for the analogue and digital sections, and standby consumption is below 0.5 W.
For connection, the player has analogue outputs plus coaxial and optical digital outputs. An external IR input and a 12V trigger input allow it to be integrated into a larger system, and the supplied NAD CD-9 remote controls it. The maker lists the model as archived and no longer for sale.
