The EXTC-SA converts the balanced line-level output of a recording interface or console into an instrument-level, high-impedance signal suited to guitar pedals. After the pedals, the signal returns to the unit, where it is raised back to balanced line level for the input of the recording interface. This makes it possible to run any recorded track, such as a vocal, violin, piano or kick, through distortion, chorus, flanger, wah or envelope-follower pedals.
Send and receive have separate controls so the signal path can be set up for each side. The design uses a class-A buffer and transformer isolation, which is intended to remove buzz, hum and ground loops.
The unit belongs to the SA series, and an SA series rack adaptor is available to mount one or two units. A power supply is included with the product, and a user guide, owner's manual and smart sheet are provided as resources.
