Descriere

The Performer s1200 is a fully analog class-AB stereo power amplifier. It delivers 2 x 300 W into 8 Ω, 2 x 520 W into 4 Ω and 2 x 550 W into 2 Ω. Voltage and power amplification are separate stages, each with its own negative feedback path, so speaker feedback does not reach the input stage. The input stage runs on SPL's ±60 V VOLTAiR technology, and the power stage on ±80 V from a linear supply with a toroidal transformer.

The amplifier has balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs, selected with a switch on the rear panel. Input sensitivity can be trimmed from 0 dB to -5.5 dB in 0.5 dB steps. Protection circuits cover DC voltage and overheating, with Protect and TEMP LEDs. Cooling is mostly passive through large heat sinks, with six processor-controlled fans as backup. Three base colours (black, red, silver) are available, and magnetic decorative panels in black, red and silver are supplied.

Speaker outputs are screw-type binding posts that take banana plugs or bare wire up to 4 mm. Standby can be switched through the AMP CTL 3.5 mm jack, for example from the Director Mk2, or through a 12 V trigger input from third-party preamps. The unit is made in Germany and is not recommended for speakers below 2 Ω.
