E-Series Dynamics Module
A 500-series module that recreates the dynamics section of the SSL SL 611E channel strip from the 4000 E console. It combines a compressor/limiter with an expander/gate and suits engineers who want the early-1980s SSL sound in a 500-series rack.

The E-Series Dynamics Module brings the dynamics processing of the SL 611E channel strip, found in the SL 4000 E console, to the 500 series format. It holds a compressor/limiter and an expander/gate, both built around the circuitry and key components that shaped the original sound.
The compressor uses a true RMS converter in the side chain. Its gain element is an all-discrete design matching the Class A VCA chip of the original unit. Extra switches let the user defeat the over-easy curve and choose a linear release instead of the usual logarithmic one, which gives the compressor three distinct voices, each with its own musical character.
The module fits 500 series racks. A user guide, a recall sheet and a Studio Tools brochure are available as downloads.
