ORIGIN
ORIGIN is an analogue in-line studio mixing console from SSL, available in 16- and 32-channel versions. It suits hybrid, DAW-based studios, schools and small to mid-sized recording rooms that want a traditional console workflow.

ORIGIN is a fully analogue in-line console with 16 buses, an E-Series '242' four-band parametric EQ on every channel and the SSL Bus Compressor in the master section. Each channel has a PureDrive mic preamp, a discrete FET design that can be switched between a clean 'Pure' mode and a 'Drive' mode adding gain-dependent harmonic saturation. The mix bus and mix amp are built for a low noise floor and large headroom.
The console is laid out for work alongside a DAW. Both the large and small fader paths have balanced insert points, and each channel has a direct output and a 0dB fader bypass switch for stem work. The master section covers solo modes, monitor selection with alternate monitor trims, four stereo returns, stereo foldback outputs A and B, and a 16-bus trim and routing matrix. An Auto Sleep mode puts the console in stand-by after a long period of inactivity.
The centre section is modular, with 12U of rack space. The 6U master tile can be repositioned to make room for DAW controllers, a keyboard, 500 series racks or other outboard gear. The meter bridge can be lowered so that a computer screen sits closer to the engineer.
